p1386603409There’s more to Minnesota than 10,000 lakes. Try 11 million acres of public hunting land, 528 designated hunting areas in the ruffed grouse range covering nearly 1 million acres, more than 40 designated ruffed grouse management areas and 600 miles of hunter walking trails.

Minnesota offers some of the best grouse hunting in the country. Even in down years of the grouse population’s boom-and-bust cycle, hunters in other states still envy our flush rates and hunter success rates remain high.

Grouse already know Minnesota is the perfect place. It’s time you did, too.

Hunts take place in northeast Minnesota in the Minnesota-Canadian Wilderness Area, with endless pristine heart stopping wing shooting opportunities for Ruffed and Spruce grouse, and excellent hunting from late September to early November.  With over 40 years of grouse hunting experience, I can assure you of solitude and a rewarding trip.  There is virtually no hunting pressure in the areas you will hunt.  Nothing compares to the beautiful colors and the crisp air of our Northwoods fall trips.

Hunting packages can include choice of lodging: a hand built log cabin in the woods, upscale rooms at the edge of town in Ely, or DSC00707remote tent spike camp in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Bring your own dog or use my experienced Chesapeake Bay retrievers with excellent noses for grouse.  Hunts require walking several miles of trails daily in rough terrain.  Days can be 1/2 day hunting 1/2 day fishing, flexible per customer preference.  Guide services include cleaning/freezing of all game and accompaniment and expertise on all trips.

Package rates start at $250/day per person based on minimum 2 hunters.  $350/day for 1 hunter trips.  1 guide per 1-3 hunters.  Additional guide $225/day.  Maximum 6 hunters per trip.
