July 31 – After the Storm

Some of  you may be aware of the horrible storm that Ely, the BWCA and Canada’s Quetico Provincial Park experienced on July 20th.  I was actually out with a party;  we were happy when daylight came.  There were trees down everywhere and, as we paddled the seventeen miles back to canoe ramp, we were thankful that things hadn’t been any worse for us.

We had a lot of trees down at our cabin; happy to say that our house, cars and other structures were spared (as well as the Triangle Lake and Blueberry Hill cabins).   I was happy to be off a few days to clean things up at bit.

I’m off tomorrow with a group who will be happy to hear that the fish are biting….
